Anoop's class talk about the generative VS. discrimitive models again. Highly motivated, really curious how people/ machine can really understanding the language. Feel so excited to know all those technologies behind the applications.

Went a examplary teacher panel discussion today. Feel the passion and energy there. Impressed by their love of the teaching even after so many years. Forever learning and every class is unique and different. Feel the connection and likeness with them. They all love learning and enjoy make other people think and learn. Some points get from there : passion, knowledge, committment, be true to yourself, have confidence in yourself and people will have confidence in you. Tricks: individulize students to get people involved; Talk about the mutual expectations on the class(try to remember people's name and interests, sample and point the people in the large lecture); Learn from negative examples(why/what you don't like); talk to people, but not reading the slides. After that pannel, I just feel , this is really what I am passion about and what I want to do for the whole life.

Then went to Fred's class, he told that there will be another technology booming. Job market is very exciting now. Started wondering, maybe I should go to the industry and see what's really going on there? :P But I do want to do something related to language technology. :D

Ha, I am the person that really easy to get excited in everything... :S

Accuracy V.S.Precision

Went to Dana's Software Engineering invited speaker again...
Again from Agile Group, talking about project Estimation.

Getting to the margins of project management. And one thing interesting is high accuracy get low precision. :P Sounds contradicting , but a common sense. Case: When you estimate the population, 250,000 in Vancouver is much better in 250,123.
Four dimention of things that affect your estimation: Combination of things you know/ don't know. Simple but True in deep thoughts, apply for everything need planning and managing, such as life. haha. Too much?

Tip for big group project estimation: Palm and Scissors. give the comparable ratio size(1-5)... Can imagine the effectiveness
